The Maltese Bichon is a small dog whose trunk is one-third longer than the height at the withers, giving the impression of being narrow and long. The head, trunk, tail and limbs are covered with a silky hair, very long and very bright. The skull is flat. The eyes are rounded and very dark. The ears, triangular in shape, are inserted high, hanging and adhering to the sides of the skull, well provided with hair. The limbs are short and plumb, rich in hair. The tail is inserted in the rump line. Its port has a single large curve and the tip will touch the rump between the two hips; she has very long hairs that touch the hock.
Hair: dense, shiny, heavy, very long: it should be 22 cm on average on the trunk and the longest hairs should exceed the height at the withers.
Color: pure white.
